The Healthiest Granola (GF)

This granola is the healthiest granola you could possibly make! It has zero refined sugar, only slightly sweetened with 100% natural, raw maple syrup which has less of an effect on your blood glucose levels than table sugar or artificial sweeteners. Plus it’s full of heart healthy, glyphosate free oats, that are sprouted for easy digestion. The flax, chia and hemp seeds add Omega-3 Fatty Acids for an anti-inflammatory boost. And the Zen Basil Seeds pack in even more fiber and nutrients! The Ceylon Cinnamon helps balance blood sugar but always make sure to pair your granola with a protein rich meal like greek yogurt or milk! I love serving mine over a protein smoothie bowl full of frozen berries, kiwi, marine collagen and greens to pack in the nutrients.

Ingredients:

  • 2.5 cups gluten free / glyphosate free sprouted oats (One Degree)

  • 2 cups mixed nuts, chopped ( I mainly use almond, cashew and walnut)

  • 1/4 cup Chia seeds

  • 1/4 cup pumpkin seeds (or sunflower)

  • 1/4 cup flax seeds

  • 1/4 cup hemp seeds

  • 1/4 cup zen basil seeds

  • 1 teaspoon ground Ceylon cinnamon

  • 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil, or melted coconut oil ( I do olive)

  • 3 tablespoons organic pure maple syrup

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions: Preheat the oven to 325 then line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat. In a large bowl, combine the chopped nuts, seeds, cinnamon and salt. Pour the melted oil, maple syrup and vanilla extract over top. Stir until everything is evenly coated with liquid. Spread the mixture out on the baking sheet into a large rectangle. Transfer to the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes. The nuts should appear golden and the granola should be fragrant. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely before stirring. Transfer to a sealed container and store in the refrigerator.
